Supervisor Training: Using the EAP in Supervision
Using the EAP in Supervision is an online training course that will teach supervisors and managers how EAPs work, the steps in making a supervisor referral,
and how to avoid common pitfalls when managing troubled employees. Once the online training course is completed, supervisors will receive a Certificate
of Completion.
Frank Horton Associates’ client companies find the online training an invaluable resource. Some ideas for how to best use the online supervisor
training include:
- Train supervisors who miss live training.
- Train newly hired supervisors.
- Train supervisors at long distances from live training opportunities.
- Train supervisors needing a brush-up prior to referring a troubled employee.
- Replace current or outdated video training resources with online training.
- Conduct “refresher” training of all supervisors on their own
schedule.
- Make online training part of new supervisor orientation.
- Refer supervisors to specific parts of the training program as a resource following a consultation
about a troubled employee. For example, supervisors can access checklists, intervention instructions, and documentation tips in the online training.
- Get
approval from professional associations to issue CEUs, CMEs, or other credit toward recognized professional certifications for training participants.
